Today’s pick: the cape comes out on the morning commute — white tee, briefcase in hand, a small hero striding across the chest while his shadow tells the office story. Some days you save the world; most days you just have to look the part until five o’clock.
Half past eight on a city sidewalk, a small figure in a cape, mask and utility belt strides toward the day like it owes him an adventure. His shadow tells the truth: a tired office worker with a briefcase, in no hurry at all. Above them both, the line everyone knows: ‘WE CAN BE HEROES JUST FOR ONE DAY.’
Drawn in a warm retro comic style, the piece takes David Bowie’s 1977 anthem and folds it into an ordinary commute — the gap between who we are at the office and who we still are underneath the shirt and tie. No lecture: just a cape, a shadow and a wink.
It is a small monument to the daydreamers — the ones answering email with one hand and saving the world with the other. The studio keeps a whole shelf of this energy: see also I Wanna Rock, our other anthem in drawing form.
