Dancing in the Moonlight: A Cat, a Full Moon and Nowhere Else to Be

Mid-step, mid-spin, whiskers up: the cat in this design is dancing inside the moon itself, on a little stage of light, while the notes drift around him like fireflies. One ink, one circle, one perfect minute after midnight when the music is exactly right.

Drawn in warm sepia like an old songbook illustration, it is the gentlest kind of music design — no volume, all sway. It speaks to slow dancers, night owls, porch-sitters, and anyone who believes the best part of a song is the part where nobody is watching and you move anyway.

He has company: Dance Little Kitty Dance Joyful Rhythms is the other dancer on the studio’s cat shelf, caught mid-twirl of her own.
